But how might our teenage years have turned out with some wild superpowers, wacky high jinks, and an undisclosed amount of peril thrown into the mix? Time to find out! Kids in Capes is a rules-light, story-driven game that leans into themes inspired by comic books, Saturday-morning cartoons, and young adult superhero stories. Expect dramatic moments, teamwork, personal struggles, and big feelings, as our characters balance ordinary kid problems with extraordinary abilities. The heart of the game is not just what powers the characters have, but who they are becoming.
Possible content warnings: mild violence, bullying, emotional conflict, danger, identity struggles, social pressure. None of these will be a sole focus, and limits will be discussed before the game.
Character creation: At the start of the game players create their own characters using a combo of pre-made archetypes, roles, and character questions. You don’t need to do anything beforehand except maybe think about what kind of powers you’d like to play with, and how those might look at the beginning of your (hopefully) long and illustrious superhero career!
Fee: €5 at the door. Pin available.
Preparations: Think about what kind of super power you would like to play with. Polyhedral dice are used for the game.
You are allowed to bring vegetarian and vegan snacks, but buy your drinks at the ACU bar.
You can only sign up for one person a time, as we unfortunately often have no shows. If you’ve made a reservation and cannot attend or wish to cancel your reservation, please contact us on our Discord or by mail.
